Trent 3 - 2 Lakehead
You can't really start a season any bigger than this. women's volleyball stunned Lakehead in what was an incredibly tight match. After taking a 2-1 set lead, Lakehead narrowly edged out Trent in the fourth to set up a fifth and final set where Trent squeaked past with a 15-13 victory.

Tough road loss against a strong Gryphons squad, puts Trent at 1-1 on the season.
