Thanks to all of our sponsors and supporters who made our 2023 President's Excalibur Golf Tournament such a success!
The annual President's Excalibur Golf Tournament is the key fundraising event in support of the Trent Excalibur Green & White Scholarship Fund. Over the past 17 years, this tournament has raised over $625,000 to support the Green & White Scholarship Fund, benefiting over four hundred Excalibur varsity student-athletes.
The Green and White Athletic Financial Awards are offered by Trent University's Department of Athletics & Recreation to entering student-athletes who have achieved an academic average above 80% and have been recruited for athletics skills and abilities.
Through the support of generous partners, we are able to continue to recruit the best and brightest student-athletes to join the Trent Excalibur family, enhancing the overall varsity student-athlete high-performance experience.
Our 2023 tournament, hosted by Trent University president Leo Groarke at Peterborough Golf and Country Club, raised an impressive $75,000 in support of Excalibur Green and White Scholarships, supporting exceptional first-year student-athletes at the University.
“It has been an outstanding year for our Excalibur program,” said Dr. Leo Groarke, president and vice-chancellor at Trent University, who hosted the event. “Investing in student-athletes through scholarships and bursaries removes barriers to participation and creates new opportunities for talented students from all backgrounds to study and compete at the highest level without financial constraints. I would like to thank all of our sponsors and guests who supported this year's tournament.”
The tournament was attended by members of the Trent Board of Governors, University senior administrators, and community business leaders. It was hosted in partnership with title sponsor Ameresco, a leading independent provider of comprehensive services, energy efficiency, infrastructure upgrades, asset sustainability and renewable energy solutions for facilities throughout North America.
