Soccer continued at the Justin Chiu Stadium this weekend, with Excalibur hosting RMC and Queen's University. Against RMC on Saturday, the women claimed their first victory! They burst out of the gate with two goals from midfield Abbey Pentusa in the first nine minutes of play, with an assist from Delanee Judd. They kept their 2-0 lead heading into the second half and finished off their shutout match with a final goal from defense Rebecca Pearce, assisted by Violet Hipkin.

Later that day, the men took to the pitch and saw an early goal from Aaron Woods-Lyon. After a tight first half, the teams were tied 1-1. RMC scored late in the second and though the men fought hard, couldn't get it back, ending the game with a 2-1 loss. Though both the men and women suffered losses against Queen's on Sunday, Excalibur raked in a few more points on the scoreboard with goals scored by Aaron Chia, Abbey Pentusa and Kristyn Roberts

Sunday was the women's lacrosse team's first conference of the season, and made their way to Queen's to face off against Western and Laurier. The women launched into their season with a brilliant win over the Mustangs 9-8. Their second match of the day was equally exciting with Excalibur fighting from behind Laurier. They managed to tie it up 9-9 and only in the last minute did the Golden Hawks slip in the last goal. Their next games are on September 23rd, with a full day tournament at home.
