Trent Excalibur Rowing primed and ready for the Canadian University Rowing Championships

Following a strong team performance at the OUA Rowing Championships last weekend the Trent Excalibur Rowing team is set to return to Welland for the Canadian University Rowing Championships from November 6-7.

With the OUA season and championships as a solid leadup to this event against the best university rowers in Canada, Grace VandenBroek believes the team is well prepared for the competition.

"The OUA Rowing Championships was very successful and has set us up well for Canadian Universities Rowing Championships this weekend," said VandenBroek, the OUA singles  champion. "I'm excited to get back on the start line with some new competitors who are going to continue to push me to go faster but it's important that I stay focused on my own race. I am very happy about my performance at the OUA Championships but it only makes me hungrier for what is to come this weekend."

After a total of four medals at the OUA Rowing Championships, the Excalibur rowing team will be sending 13 student-athletes back to the Flatwater Centre in Welland, Ont., with seven boats representing the Trent Excalibur.

The Excalibur varsity team will be led by Head Coach Ugette Vanderpost and represented by Grace VandenBroek, Mike Caryk, Rosalyn Shepherd, Petra Plat-Dekoter, Tim Leubke, Brianna Tombs, Taylor Bryan, Simon Grasdal, Sofia Cutulle, Camille Waldeck, Tasmin West and Samantha Wiggs.
