Matthew Hagopian is the Interim Head coach of the Excalibur Rowing team. He has been coaching for 8 years, with the last 4 being for Trent University. Matthew was once an Excalibur, joining Trent rowing in his first year at university in 2014. He continued to row with the Varsity Heavymen’s until he graduated in 2018 with his BSc, majoring in Psychology.
Matthew continued his education, earning his MSc in Psychology and went on to study concussion research for four years.
As a coach in Peterborough, Matthew has helped athletes reach their full potential on the water. Through his skills as a performance-trained rowing coach, he has helped athletes win national titles at the junior performance level and have helped athletes walk on to varsity programs within Canada.
