Excalibur volleyball's Butterworth and Austin named Athletes of the Week (Nov 12-15)
Bringing energy and confidence on-and-off the court, Excalibur volleyball's Jade Butterworth and Ryan Austin are this week's Athletes of the Week!
Fourth-year student-athlete and libero with the Excalibur women's volleyball team, Jade Butterworth has had a solid start to the 2021-22 OUA season. Anchoring the serve reception, Butterworth's strong play and energy on-and-off the court were key in the team's success this season and this weekend. She had a game-high 11 digs in the Excalibur's victory over the RMC Paladins this weekend and continues to show leadership and determination throughout the game and is a key driver to motivating the team to fight for every point.
Competing in his third year with the Excalibur volleyball team, Ryan Austin was an offensive force in the doubleheader matchup against the RMC Paladins. He totaled 33 kills over two games (16 and 17, respectively), adding six blocks and two aces this weekend. Austin's strong offensive play was key in the two tight matches against the Paladins.
