Excalibur Weekend Wrap-up (Oct 29-31): Excalibur edge out Varsity Blues in CUFLA playoff action, men's and women's soccer close out OUA season

The first place Trent Excalibur lacrosse team got their 2021 CUFLA playoffs underway on Sunday, winner advances into next week's bracket round. Hosting the Toronto Varsity Blues, it was a rematch of the previous week, as the teams put up another entertaining game for the fans at Justin Chiu Stadium.

It was a close contest throughout as it needed overtime to decide the winner, but in the end, it was Cam Milligan who clinched it for the Excalibur.

On the soccer field, the women's and men's soccer teams closed out their OUA regular season schedule against the U Sports No. 3 seed, Carleton Ravens. After losing 9-0 in the first game of the series on Friday, the Excalibur put in a strong effort in their season finale, falling 3-0 against the Ravens.

Hosting the Ravens at Justin Chiu on Friday, the Excalibur women's soccer team wrapped up their OUA season with 1-1 draw in game one before falling 4-1 to conclude their season. 

In OUA Championship action, the Excalibur women's lacrosse won their second consecutive OUA Championship banner, earning the Patterson Cup after a 10-9 victory over the Queen's Gaels. Full article on Trent Varsity home page.

The Excalibur Rowing team were in Welland on Saturday for the OUA Rowing Championships, where they collected a total of four medals, placing the women's and men's team fifth and seventh overall, respectively. Grace VandenBroek (women's 1x), Brianna Tombs and Taylor Bryan (women's 2x), Mike Caryk and Brendan Rivers (men's 2x) and the women's 8x team were the medallists for the Excalibur.
