RESULTS

Third year rower, Grace VandenBroek led the way on Saturday, winning OUA gold medal in the women's 1x race, stopping the clock at 8:31.239 at the finish line.

Following her standout season that included wins at the Head of the Trent and Head of the Rideau Regattas, Grace was nominated by the OUA coaches as the 2021 OUA Rowing Female Athlete of the Year.

Winning the first medal of the day was the 2x duo of Brianna Tombs and Taylor Brian, placing third in the women's 2x final with a time of 8:22.42, to capture the OUA bronze medal.

The men's 2x race was up next on the water and the rush to the podium continued as the Mike Caryk and Brendan Rivers placed third in the men's race. With a time 7:14.71, the men's duo stepped onto the podium for the bronze medal Saturday afternoon.

Closing out the podium finishes for the Excalibur, the women's 8x boat hit the water, putting in a complete team effort as the boat raced to the Excalibur's third bronze OUA medal, fourth overall, with a third place finish with a time of 7:27.727.

Overall, the Excalibur women's rowing team finished with a total of 185 points while the men's team tallied 65 across all events.

Although the championships concluded the OUA rowing season, the Excalibur men's and women's rowing teams will compete at the Canadian University Rowing Championships next,  as they return to the International Flatwater Centre November 6-7.
