Rookie Jack MacAlphine joins the graduating Women's Lacrosse members as this week's Athletes of the Week (Oct. 22-24)
The regular season has come to a close for the Excalibur varsity lacrosse teams, with Excalibur rookie lacrosse midfielder Jack MacAlpine named as one of the Athletes of the Week, joining the graduating student-athletes from the Excalibur women's lacrosse team!
Scoring five goals for the Excalibur in their 13-8 victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues, MacAlpine helped the Excaibur men's lacrosse complete the undefeated season, as the team sits in top spot in the CUFLA Central division. The team now looks towards round one of the Baggataway Cup playoffs this weekend, hosting a rematch against the Varsity Blues at Justin Chiu Stadium on Sunday, October 31.
The women's lacrosse team also wrapped up their OUA regular season play as they visited the Toronto Varsity Blues in Toronto. As the conclusion of the 2021 regular season, it also marked the final regular season games for the team's graduating athletes. Emily VanDamme, Victoria Clark, Drew Gordan, Molly Jensen, Cassidy Assinck and Jocelyn Lemay were the starters on the field for their final regular season game, a 10-9 victory over the Varsity Blues. They will compete at the OUA Championships this weekend from October 30-31, hosted by the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.
