Leadership on the pitch, Wilson and McPhee are this week's Athletes of the Week (09/23-26)
Coming off a total of four wins over the past weekend, as a part of the Trent University Excalibur soccer team, defender Alexis Wilson and goalkeeper Jacob McPhee have been named this week's Excalibur Athletes of the Week!
Leading the team during the Excalibur women's home and home series against the RMC Paladins, Wilson showed leadership and a strong work ethic, pushing the play out of their defensive zone to set up opportunities throughout the games.
The fifth-year defender was instrumental in leading the team to their two wins over the weekend, where the team only allowed one goal over two matches, while scoring a total of five goals against the Paladins.
The Excalibur men's soccer team also began their 2021 campaign with two games against the RMC Paladins and were led by two clean sheet performances from goalkeeper Jacob McPhee.
Coming up with timely saves to preserve the shutout wins in both games, including a close 1-0 victory during the team's home opener. His leadership and positivity continues to support the team game in and game out.
