Lacrosse standouts Romanchych, Manuliak named Athletes of the Week
Trent University Excalibur men's lacrosse co-captain Curtis Romanchych and Excalibur women's lacrosse sophomore Mackenize Manuliak are this week's Excalibur Athlete of the Week.
A solid presence in the backend, Romanchych played a pivotal role in shutting down the opponent's offence in a 10-3 victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues on Sunday.
The fifth-year veteran led the team in ground balls and helped lead the defence to hold the Varsity Blues to three goals.
In her second year with the Excalibur, Manuliak made her Excalibur debut over the weekend, helping the women's team sweep the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks 17-1 and 27-1.
Manuliak was a key part of the team's offence, tallying two goals and two assists in the first game, before exploding for eight goals and an assist in the second game.
