In their home opener at Justin Chiu Stadium, the Trent University Excalibur women’s rugby team edged the Toronto Varsity Blues 27-26 for the victory!

The Excalibur came out of the gate strong leading 17-0 after the 1^st half with tries by Maddy Howells, Abby Monkman, and captain Reagan MacDonald.

In the 2^nd half, as the Varsity Blues began to push back, Maddy Howells added her second try of the game, before Kristy Metzger fought her way through a sea of blue and crossed the end line for the winning try.

The Excalibur’s record now improves to 2-1 with their final regular season game upcoming next Saturday, September 30^th back at home vs the Laurier Golden Hawks. It is a Head of the Trent game you do not want to miss!
