The Excalibur fought hard and left everything on the field as they hosted the Laurier Golden Hawks in the 4th annual Varsity O-Week Game at Trent's Jusin Chiu Stadium. PLaying in front of an estimated 1,500 first year students, fans and Orientation Staff, the stadium was bumping from start to finish.

The Golden Hawks were always going to be a big challenge, as they came into the year with mostly the same team from 2017 after a small graduating class. Paired with the fact that the Excalibur were missing senior front row players Stephen McElhinney (Injury) and Emerson Prior (U23 National Team), the Excalibur just could not overcome the obstacles, dropping the match 50-0. Laurier 8-man Matt Fish had a notable game with five (5) tries on the night.

The Excalibur travel to McMaster University this weekend to lineup against the Marauders on Sunday, with a 2:00pm kick.
