PETERBOROUGH, ON

On the water, the university rowing season was wrapping up with Canadian University Rowing Championships being hosted by the Brock Badgers at the famed Henley Island course in St Catharines, Ontario. The two-day event would see boats race on Saturday in qualifying heats, and Sunday in finals. The annual race was back in Ontario after being in British Columbia last Fall, and the teams couldn't have asked for better conditions with temperatures breaking 10 degrees both days.

The Excalibur came in with eyes on the podium, and rowers from both the men’s and women’s programs came out with medals. First year student-athletes Spencer Kielar and Grace VandenBroek both continued their successful inaugural university seasons showing the future is bright for the Excalibur. Kielar scored Gold in the Men’s Lightweight Single with an outstanding 7 second victory (7:29:200), and Silver in the Lightweight Double alongside senior Dayton Kelly, while VandenBroek scored a Bronze in the Women’s Single. A fantastic end to a fantastic season for the Excalibur.
