The Excalibur Men’s Lacrosse hosted the University of Ottawa Gee Gee’s at Justin Chiu Stadium Saturday with a spot in the Baggataway Cup National Championships at University of Toronto on the line. The Green & White started out with a fast-paced game, taking a 6-1 lead after the first quarter, and 10-4 lead into the half. The teams would trade 3 goals a piece in the third quarter, with the Excalibur feeling good at 13-7 going into the fourth.

The Gee Gees would keep their heads down and work hard to make a game of it as the Excalibur let off the gas in the final 20 minutes. With six minutes left in the game, the score was 13-11, and strong defensive play and ball control would lead to a 14-11 victory for the Excalibur. As top seed in the East, the Excalibur will head straight to the semi-finals at 1pm next Saturday where they will play the winner of the first quarterfinal between the Nipissing Lakers and Brock Badgers.
