The Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association announced its 2018 All-Stars in advance of the Baggataway Cup. The Trent Excalibur were very well represented after their 1st place finish in the East. In attack, standout Jeff Fernandes (Whitby, ON) powered the Excalibur offense with 20 goals and 23 assists in 10 games played, averaging over 4 pts per game.

The midfield was represented twice, with Nick Chaykowsky (Bradford, ON) making the grade after his transfer from Nipissing last year. Chaykowksy put up 30 points through the season, but his presence wasn't only on the score sheet as he constantly created space for his teammates. Joining him on the list was defensive specialist was #66 Nick Finlay (Ottawa, ON). Finlay, a senior and captian on the team led by example providing tremendous defensive play. His defensive responisbilities did not hold him off the score sheet though as he also chipped in for 24 points on the year.

Finally the defense also got its recognition through #12 Pat McRory. McRory, who is attending Teachers College at Trent after spending time at Western, added a solid presence to a defensive line that helped push Trent to a +64 goal differential this year.

Congratulations to all of the individual award winners. The Excalibur will begin their quest for the Baggataway Cup on Saturday at 1pm when they face the winner of the Brock/Nipissing quarterfinal at Toronto's Varsity Stadium.
