ACCOMMODATION ON CAMPUS DURING TRAINING CAMP:

Many of our tryouts and training camps take place before the official move-in day for residence (TBD) and early arrivals move-in day (August 26, with advance application only, see below). If you will be requiring accommodations between your tryout and official move-in day, you will need to arrange alternate accommodations during this time.

For sports with tryouts prior to August 26, housing can be arranged through Conference Services at a rate of $68.18 + HST per night. Students will be housed in Gzowski College. *Please note this is not your permanent residence room for the school year. Gzowski College has air-conditioned rooms located in our newest residence. They offer 1 double bed per room, semi-private washrooms, and elevator access. For this style of accommodation, shampoo, soap, linen, and towels are provided. Shared washrooms will be assigned based on gender and will be shared with one other student-athlete. To make an individual reservation please contact (705) 748-1011 x 7070 or email conferences@trentu.ca. For more details, please click here

In addition to arranging accommodation during training camp, student-athletes are asked to apply for early move-in through their Housing Portal on MyTrent (The same portal used to apply for and select your residence). Student-athletes will be able to move into the residence they are living in for the year on Monday, August 26. Please note that food is very limited on campus prior to Labour Day weekend so please plan to arrange/bring your own food.

Only those who make arrangements for residence during training camp will be able to be accommodated. We are unable to provide on-campus accommodation for anyone who arrives at tryouts without making arrangements in advance.

IMPORTANT HEALTH INSURANCE INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:

For incoming first-year international students who are trying out for a team whose tryouts take place before September 1 (lacrosse, rowing, rugby, or soccer), please email uhip@trentu.ca with your name and Trent ID and indicate that you are arriving early and participating in varsity tryouts. This is required to ensure you have adequate health coverage in the event of an injury. If you are a returning student-athlete, this does not apply to you as your 2023/2024 UHIP coverage covers you until August 31, 2024.

Questions regarding UHIP health insurance for international students can be directed to uhip@trentu.ca.
