Summary

The Trent Excalibur men’s and women’s volleyball teams will look to regroup after hard fought defeats against RMC and Queen’s this weekend. The women’s team took two sets from RMC before falling 3-2. On Sunday the team had a short trip to Queen’s, where a valiant effort was put forth but ultimately fell to the Gaels.

The men’s team played to two hard fought defeats this weekend. Trent dictated the pace of play against Queen’s, managing to win the third set, but ultimately Queen's offense proved to be too much for them as they were outscored in a tough fourth set. After a long winter break, both teams look to build off their performances during the second half of the season.

In other action, the Trent Curling team kicked off the season with a strong performance at the Brock Invitational. The women’s team won 3 of their games on Saturday, before taking a commanding 7-0 win over Queen’s in the semifinal, and finishing second overall in the tournament after a hard fought match against Niagara College. After winning three games Saturday, the men’s team lost a close match to Laurier before meeting Niagara in the bronze medal match, ultimately finishing the weekend with a hard fought fourth place finish.
