Alex brings a wealth of sport program planning and development experience as can be seen through his roles with the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, the Ottawa Fury, Canadian Paralympic Committee, Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics/Paralympics Games, and Soccer Canada. He is a strong strategic planner and brings a strength in sport development, brand development and customer service experience.

As the Sport Coordinator – Canadian Anti-Doping Program, Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, Alex implemented and coordinated the anti-doping testing program for thirty sports nationally (CCAA/CIS to Olympic/Paralympic). He maintained a comprehensive testing program and created and implemented the Test Distribution Plan. With the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, he also was the National Program Coordinator – Active & Safe Program where he managed the national concussion awareness campaign targeting stakeholders of high-impact team sport. He developed tools and resources for education sessions, as well as user manuals for clubs to instill and nourish growth of knowledge on subject of brain injury, reaching over 5000 participants nationally. With the Ottawa Fury Soccer Club, Alex held the position of Marketing & Corporate Partnerships where he established and developed partnerships with organizations in the Ottawa area. He also created and administered promotions and events and managed the revenue and brand development initiatives including Soccer in Schools and Match Pass programs. As the Program Co-ordinator, Games & Sport Development, with the Canadian  Paralympic Committee he planned various programs including 2012 Coach/IST Conference, NSO Schedule Tracking, CPC ‘Get Involved’ initiative, Grassroots and LTAD Para-sport events. He will bring experience with both the high performance as well as development side of sport and has an understanding of sport infrastructure nationally and internationally.  

Alex has a tremendous passion for Trent Athletics as a graduate of Trent University (Honours Bachelor Business Administration) and as a former varsity Excalibur soccer athlete. Alex also has a Sport Business Management Graduate degree from Algonquin College. With over twenty years of sport participation as an athlete, employee and volunteer he stands strong as a dedicated advocate for athletes and for the power of sport.
