Men's Lacrosse had a successful end to their pre-season exhibition play as they took down the University of Toronto Varsity Blues 20-4 in Toronto on Saturday. Kyle Holton (Peterborough, ON) kept the door closed early while the offense found their rhythm on route to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter. Trent also won the second quarter by a score of 3-2 playing a very fast paced defense that was also great in transition. Trent would go on to dominate the remainder of the game outscoring U of T 12-2 in the second half securing the win 20-4.

The win showed the Excalibur were ready for what they hope will be another deep run in CUFLA competition. The Excalibur were runner's up in the Baggataway Cup last year, and are hoping that they can build off that again this year. Their regular season kicks off next Sunday at home with the Green & White hosting the Ottawa U Gee Gees at Justin Chiu Stadium, with a 2:00pm start time.

In other long weekend action, the Excalibur Men's Rugby program started their season in front of over 500 fans with a tough match against the Queen's Gaels. The opening 20 minutes were a back and forth affair, and overall the match was closer than the scoreboard would imply. The Excalibur pushed hard but just could not break through a resilient Gaels defense. Their next match is a big one at home versus McMaster on Saturday afternoon.

Next Excalibur home action is the annual O-Week Game this Wednesday. The Men's Soccer team welcome the RMC Paladins for a 6:00pm kickoff in front of a packed Justin Chiu Stadium. Over 1000 spectators are expected at the event which welcomes first year students to Trent.
