Women’s and Men’s Lacrosse started their regular seasons with convincing wins in their matches. Men’s Rugby hosted McMaster University on Saturday while Women’s rugby started their season at Brock University. Men’s and Women’s soccer were on the road against University of Toronto and were set to play Ryerson Sunday evening.

Summary
Women’s lacrosse continued their dominance over OUA competition as they were successful against UOIT and York University in resounding fashion. Last year’s Rookie of the Year Leah Michel scored a total of 12 goals and 3 assists for the weekend, with Mackenzie Robinson also scoring a collective 12 goals and 2 assists. Next games will be held at York University on September 16 at 10:15AM and 1:45PM.
Men’s Lacrosse team hosted their home opener at Justin Chiu stadium against the University of Ottawa. The team held their own with a final score of 17-5, with veteran Garrett Eddy scoring a total of 5 goals and 1 assist. Coach Geoff McKinley says “First game today, we just wanted the [team] to come out and execute our system for the full 80 minutes. It was evident we did that on the score sheet. [Overall] a really good team win.” Next home game will be held on September 16 at 6:30PM against Carleton University.
The Women’s Rugby team was unsuccessful against the Brock Badger’s on Saturday, adn the Men also came up short against what appears to be a very strong McMaster squad. The men held tight at the half, but the visiting Marauders had more in the tank and took over in the second half. The women’s and men’s soccer team will be looking to regroup after both teams collected a pair of losses on their trip to Toronto against the Varsity Blues.
