EXCALIBUR SOCCER SEASON KICKS OFF

IN THE NATION’S CAPITAL

FRIDAY, AUGUST 25, 2017

TRAINING CAMPS ARE ALL FINISHED, AND THE EXCALIBUR ARE HEADING EAST ON HIGHWAY 7 AS THEY HEAD TO GAMES AGAINST OTTAWA U AND CARLETON THIS WEEKEND.

Games this Week:

Saturday, August 26

W Soccer: Trent University @ Ottawa U - 1:00pm

Sunday, August 27

W Soccer: Trent University @ Carleton - 1:00pm

M Soccer: Trent University @ Carleton - 3:15pm

The women’s soccer team had a promising pre-season, after winning all four of their exhibition matches without surrendering a single goal. They will hope to take their positive spirit into a big opening match against the perennial powerhouse Ottawa U Gee Gees on Saturday afternoon in Ottawa. “The team feels good right now after some good matches”, said Coach Stu Robertson, who is now heading up both men’s and women’s programs for the Excalibur. “This will be a good test for them to see where they are at”.

Men’s soccer will head into Ottawa with revenge on their minds, as they return to Carleton Sunday afternoon. The Excalibur were eliminated from OUA playoffs last season in extra time by the Ravens. The men are hoping they can use that memory as motivation to get points on the board early in the season. The women will also face off against Carleton on Sunday.
