Former Trent Men’s rugby coach David McCully has been recognized by Rugby Canada as the 2017 Male Coach of the Year. In his time with the Excalibur, David won back to back OCAA Coach of the Year Awards in 2014 and 2015, while also leading the Excalibur to OCAA Gold in 2015. His contributions to Excalibur rugby, as well as to the development of rugby in the community, coaching the Peterborough Pagans team and at various Peterborough high schools have been instrumental in the development of the minor rugby program in Peterborough, and grwoing it into one of the largest in the country.
